Invoke any law, I will live in my style: Shahabuddin

Patna : Celebrating Eid at his native village Pratappur in Siwan on Tuesday after a gap of 12 years, former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin, who was released from on bail four days ago, said whatever action the Bihar government want to takes including invoking the Crime Control Act (CCA) against him, he will live in his own style.

“Sarkar agar CCA lagana chahti hai to lagaye, lekin mai apne tarike se jeeta hun (If government want to invoke CCA against me, it can but I will live as per my style),” Shahabuddin told media while meeting his supporters.

The opposition BJP has demanded that CCA be slapped against the former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP.

According to reports reaching here, it was a grand Bakrid celeberation at his palatial house, locally known as White House in Prastapur, where hundreds of his supporters and followers gathered since early morning to meet and greet him.

“Shahabuddin has celeberated Bakrid in a big way along with his 83-year-old ailing father, wife Heena Shahab, brothers and sisters, other members of the family, close relatives, villagers and supporters,” a RJD leader said.

Shahabuddin was granted bail by the Patna High Court on Saturday in connection with the murder of a witness in the killing of two brothers in Siwan.

Meanwhile RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday downplayed the controversy created by Shahabuddin’s comment that Nitish Kumar is chief minister of circumstances, saying that so-called “turmoil” was a media creation and asserted that Nitish Kumar is the leader of the ruling grand alliance of the JD-U, RJD and Congress.

He also said the grand alliance coalition is intact and there is no danger to it in Bihar.
