We are careless about Hindi, says Ashok Vajpeyi on Hindi Diwas

New Delhi : The condition of Hindi is miserable in the country and there is carelessness about the language, noted poet Ashok Vajpeyi lamented at an event held here to mark Hindi Diwas on Wednesday.

Only teachers can help reverse the current state by imparting positive thinking about the language in their students, Vajpeyi said at the event organised by Madhuban Educational Books.

Besides a discussion on the direction that Hindi education is taking in the country, the “Hindi Hain Hum” ceremony also honoured 76 teachers to for their contribution towards enriching the language.

Manisha Abrol from G.D. Goenka School Delhi, Manish Jain from Delhi Public School; Meenakshi Agrawal from Modern School; Ajay Kumar Sharma from Amity School Noida; Gurusharan Kaur from Oasis School of Excellence in Hyderabad; and Kalpana Sharma from The Cathedral & John Cannon School Mumbai, were among those awarded in the ceremony.
