New Delhi : Thousands of people from across the world have decided to launch a movement against animal abuse in over 60 cities across the globe on Sunday.
India Unites For Animals (IUFA), a citizens’ initiative, said in a release here the movement is being launched to achieve an inclusive world that compassionately coexists with animals and nature, inspired by the Indian ideology of ‘Vasudhaïva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family) to end all forms of cruelty and abuse of animals.
“We will take to the streets in a peaceful, massive synchronised campaign to launch the movement simultaneously in over 60 cities in India and abroad,” said IUFA.
The animal loving people have had enough of increasing violence and abuse, apathy and cruelty to animals, and are now inviting conscious and responsible citizens, NGOs, party leaders, celebrities and corporates with a clear stance of being animal friendly to join hands to get the Animals Welfare Bill passed by the Parliament, it said.
The IUFA also felt the need for more laws to cover crimes that are not covered under the present laws.
