Jahangirabad Media Institute students tour offices of news channels and radio stations in Delhi

Barabanki (UP): Jahangirabad Media Institute (JMI), Barabanki on Saturday April 1, 2017, organised a tour for media students for Delhi based offices of various news and entertainment channels. Besides the students also visited various historical places like India Gate, Jama Masjid along with Rashtrapati Bhawan and Prime Minister office.

The students got chance to observe firsthand the working of News 24 Channel, E 24 and Radio station Dhamal 24. The student’s got to see how TV news channels operate and radio stations function.

“It was a very good experience for them because most of students have never been to any news channel office. It was part of their course in Jahangirabad Media Institute where they are studying different diploma, certificate and degree courses. The students have termed the tour as highly Informative,” said Zubair Ahmed, faculty at JMI.

Tisha Mathur, one of the students studying journalism at JMI said, “We saw digital library and PCR at News 24. We also got know how of shooting on Croma. Experience was nice and informative.”

Another student Maaz Kidwai said, “I saw graphic and animation department of News 24 and also virtual newroom. It has left a deep imprint on my mind and motivated me to join a news channel after finishing course at JMI.”

Manish and Mohit who are working at News 24 as reporters also shared their views to JMI student. They also cleared their doubt regarding electronic media.

Located within the campus of Jahangirabad Institute of Technology (JIT), Jahangirabad Media Institute (JMI) was set up in 2005 in the sprawling campus of Jahangirabad Fort to facilitate professional training in the field of media and entertainment. The institute is located in the historic fort of Jahangirabad, in Barabanki District, about 40 km from Lucknow city.

Although located at hinterland, JMI is equipped with modern technology, state of the arts infrastructure, a team of experienced and dynamic faculty, the media practitioners and comprehensive course materials. JMI has been running degree and master courses in several branches of media and journalism for several years now and has the state of art facility in electronic media and film making with separate radio and TV studios at its campus, besides well-equipped library.
