Tejashwi should be scared of going to jail: Paswan

New Delhi, (IANS): Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday said Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav should be scared of going to jail in connection with the corruption charges against him.

Reacting to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad’s claim that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was scared of Tejashwi, Paswan told reporters here “son (Tejashwi) is going to the jail. Then who should be frightened?”

The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief also defended Nitish Kumar’s decision to form the government with the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying “Nitishji had two options. First, fight against corruption or save the corrupt government in the name of saving secularism. It had become suffocating for Nitish (to continue with RJD).”

Calling the decision to join hands with the BJP “a masterstroke”, he said that “earlier, he was urged by media to part ways with the corrupt. Now that he has done it, you are calling him names”.

Paswan expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance would sweep all Lok Sabha seats in 2019 general election given the combined power of the BJP, JD-U and the LJP.
