Nitish didn’t have guts to seek fresh mandate: Tejashwi

Patna, (IANS): Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday launched a direct attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying he was afraid of fresh polls and hence joined hands with the BJP.

“Nitish Kumar was afraid to go to people that is why he has silently joined hands with the BJP. The RJD has no problem to seek fresh mandate from people,” Tejashwi Yadav said.

The younger son of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad also said that the CBI case against him was “part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s agenda to defame me”.

He also questioned the Chief Minister’s decision not to hold a joint meeting of the Grand Alliance and instead meeting with BJP MLAs after he resigned on Wednesday evening.

Nitish Kumar on Thursday took oath as Bihar Chief Minister, heading a JD-U-BJP government, within hours of dumping the Grand Alliance. BJP’s Sushil Kumar Modi was sworn in as his deputy.
