According to sources, Ananthan Nair is now learning the basics at Ponnani Maunathul Islam Sabha, the government-approved centre for conversion and primary Islamic studies.

The new development follows the conversion of Faisal’s mother Meenakshi and two sisters Subitha and Kavitha. Along with the duo, their children and Subitha’s husband Murali had converted to Islam two months ago in Ponnani.  Sources said the family members are now given lessons of Islam at Markazul Hidaya at Manjeri.

Faisal P, alias Aneesh Kumar, son of Ananthan Nair, of Kodinhi, was brutally murdered by RSS activists for accepting Islam in November 2016.

Faisal’s wife Priya had converted to Islam and adopted new name Jasna before he was killed.

Faisal’s sister Kavitha, sources said, has applied for divorce from his husband Pullani Vinod, who is one of the key accused in the murder case.

Kodinhi mosque committee is now building a new house for Faisal’s family at his home village. The house is constructed with contributions from local residents.

The Police had arrested 16 accused in the case including prime accused and RSS Tirur Saha Karyavah Madathil Narayanan, Faisal’s brother in law Vinod and Kottasseri Jayakumar, VHP’s Tirurangadi Taluk secretary. All the accused are out on bail. Bipin, one of the accused, was murdered by a gang at Tirur last month.
