New Delhi: Jolted with the recent violence, suppression of Muslims and Dalits in the country and to chalk out a solution senior Dalit and Muslim leaders of India held a meeting at Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind on Tuesday to “hammer out the solution to fight against negative forces.”
After six hours long meeting, the participants drafted resolution to form a joint Dalit-Muslim social front which will not only protect the Constitution but also the fraternity of the country under the laws.
Leaders and Intellectuals from both community including Kancha Ilaiah, Ram Puniyani, Swami Agnivesh, Ashok Bharti, Prakash Ambedkar, Harsh Mander, Qari Mahmood Usman, Maulana Mahmood Madni, Moulana Arshad Madni, Kamal Farooqui and many more have participated in the meeting making the number of participants more than 200.
Besides this, leaders from other minorities’ community including Sikh and Christians have also participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Ram Puniyani said that RSS wants a Hindu nation since its inception. And now when they are in power, they are implementing their plans. “If this government returns to the power, then constitution cannot be protected,” he asserted adding that in the last four years, they (the government) have been dividing people by spreading fear, hate and communalism in the country with the help of social media.
“If we want to save the country, the Constitution and its fraternity, we have to act as one in the upcoming General Election against the BJP.” Puniyani added.
Following the event, former MP and grandson of Bhimrao Ambedkar, Prakash Ambedkar said that BJP government is constantly trying to weaken and change the Constitution. “To trounce them, we need to kick start a revolution. We need to neutralize communal forces through cultural exchange,” he said.
Speaking at the event, President of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Qari Mohammad Usman said, “As people of India, we have right to question to the government but now that right is being squashed.”
“We need to expose the government and the hate which they have been spreading in the country for political gain.” He added
While spiritual leader Swami Agnivesh emphasised that the recent events against Dalits and Muslims are horrifying. “We have to unite to fight against these forces.”
General Secretary of the Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Maulana Mahmood Madni said, “We all know that Muslims-Dalits have been targeted from last four years by a particular political party. I’m glad that prominent faces of both the community have come on board to chalk out a solution of this menace.”
“Today we have very fruitful meeting with all senior leaders. A lot of suggestions have been received from all leaders. Soon we will extract some of the major point from the suggestions and will move forward to it,” Madni added.
The bullet points made at the event “to move forward” includes forming a Dalit-Muslim alliance to fight against negative forces; building a roadmap to save the Constitution by “trouncing” BJP in 2019 general election; exposing the government and his policies; and fighting for the rights of Muslim-Dalits who are being suppressed by the government.
