New Delhi (IANS): In its bid to strengthen its outreach among the Dalit community in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, the Congress on Friday appointed two observers — Brijlal Khabri and Sidharth Parmar — a party official said.

They have been given the responsibilty of mobilising the Scheduled Caste (SC) community in Madhya Pradesh to bring it into the Congress fold.

In a statement, AICC’s SC Department Chairman Nitin Raut said: “Brijlal Khabri, Vice Chairman, SC department, AICC, and Sidharth Parmar, ex-MLA Gujarat are designated as AICC observers, charged with the responsibility to mobilise all the SC households to bring to Congress fold. They will be assisted by the SC Department, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee.”

“MPCC President (Kamal Nath) is requested to extend necessary cooperation and support to Brijlal Khabri and Sidharth Parmar to discharge responsibilities assigned to them.

“This has the approval of the Congress President (Rahul Gandhi),” it added.
