After the gram sabha meeting today at the panchayat office in Ummapalayam , Odanthurai village, Coimbatore District, a program was conducted with community support to create awareness on education and prevent child labour.
The program was presided over by Mrs. Nesamani (Panchayat secretary) and Mr. Biju Alex (Field Officer, NCLP, Coimbatore)facilitated the session to the gathering. He spoke about the importance of education to children of the village. Lack of education creates a lot of problems in the future.
The people of the village appreciated the program and assured that they will educate their children.
The awareness program was organised by Miss.Oviya (II MSW, Bharathiar University).
