Jagatsinghpur (Orissa) : One fisherman was killed and two sustained serious injuries Saturday after lightning hit them, police said.
At least nine fishermen of Sandhakud village, some 120 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, had gone fishing in the Bay of Bengal in a boat. One of them died on the spot while the two injured were brought ashore in a critical condition.
The deceased was identified as A. Museliaya. The injured were undergoing treatment in a hospital here, a senior district police official said.
