Srinagar : Chairman Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party, Prof. Bhim Singh today challenged the Hurriyat leaders Sayed Ali Shah Geelani and Molvi Umer Farooq to contest from any of the Assembly constituency in Kashmir.
“I challenge to the two foremost but hostile Kashmiri Leaders to face me in any assembly constituency of the Kashmir Valley in the forthcoming Assembly Elections” Prof Bhim Singh said in a statement issued here today.
He declared that he shall not use any security cover or protection during election campaign in the Valley. He said that he has no mind to contest Assembly Elections as he represented the Panthers Party for two terms in the assembly, but the angry statements just to exploit the innocent Kashmiris without having any mandate of the people, no one has a mandate to speak against the Centre- State relation which were tied by the Maharaja with the full support of the people of Kashmir in 1947.
Prof. Singh said, “I have great respect for both the angry leaders one (Shri Syed Ali Shah Geelani) was my senior colleague in the Assembly and was also Jail mate for several months and the second (Molvi Umer Farooq) is the son of my great friend Late Molvi Farooq. Both of them I respect but this is my bounded duty to guide our people towards light not darkness.
Let them chose Assembly constituency they like in the Valley. I am proud of the great Kashmiris who have been peace loving, secular to the core and stand for brotherhood. In case they win against me I shall follow them, but if they loose they shall have to follow my agenda which is reorganization of J&K under the meaning and scope of article 370.There lies a need for three tier Assembly system in J&K with federal guarantee under article 370.This is essential to ensure a legitimate representative status to the Hurriyat Conference Leaders so that the people may Take them seriously at home and abroad.
Earlier Panthers Supremo Prof. Singh expressed heart felt condolences to the parents of Late Arshid Hussain, who lost their only male child, recently graduated and was getting married next month.
Prof. Bhim Singh described Arshid’s death as a murder by the security forces as he died due to injuries he got from the security forces. He demanded compensation to the family and action against the culprit.
