Obama Warns of Financial Crisis

Washington : US Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama warned Monday that the current financial crisis is a great threat to the US economy.

Obama said the US financial disaster affects the ability to create jobs with good salaries for workers to pay their own bills and save for the future.

“The challenges our system now faces are great evidence that too many people in Washington and Wall Street have not been responsible,” said Obama Monday.

Obama’s message came after US bank Lehman Brothers announced its bankruptcy after a failed stock sales attempt.

He said the administration of US President George W. Bush brought eight years of cuts in protection to consumers, new controls and new regulations.

Enormous incentive bonds were given to corporate presidents while the middle class was ignored, said Obama, who considered this financial crisis the worst since 1929.
