Dubai : Students of Indian schools in Qatar have got an Eid-ul-Fitr gift in the form of an eight-day holiday for the festival instead of three days announced earlier.
Schools like MES Indian School, Birla Public School, Doha Modern Indian School and DPS-Modern Indian School are implementing the new holiday schedule starting Sep 29 following a directive to this effect from Qatar’s Department of Private Education, the Gulf Times reported.
“Though our original intention was to save two or three academic days, we are now determined to honour the directive of the Department of Private Education,” the report quoted an official from one of the schools as saying.
Under the new schedule, the schools will reopen Oct 7.
