"We are proud to be India's first radio network to bring this unique format to the country. We are very excited about it as it will fulfil all the needs of the listeners," said Tarun Katial, the chief operating officer of Big 92.7 FM.

As per the new format that will be introduced Aug 6, the radio station will play chartbusters rated top 100 in Delhi, throughout the day. The top 100 songs will be ranked and replaced every week.

To ensure accuracy and credibility of data, the station will undertake a thorough and meticulous backend process. It will involve television play-outs of music videos and ring tone downloads on mobile phones as strong indicators to gauge music popularity.

Also, album sales of music stores and play-outs across radio stations will be used as parameters for ranking the songs.

"Recent research indicates the country's need for latest chartbuster music, which cuts across age barriers, especially appealing to (the) 20-29 age group audience. Our offering will fill the void that exists," said Punit Mathur, the head of Big 92.7 FM's New Delhi station.
