Peshawar : Six persons including four policemen injured in two separate explosions in Dir Lower on Thursday, police said.
The first explosion occurred near Dawana village on Dir-Timergara road when a remote control device planted on road side exploded as a police van carrying prisoners was passing through.
As result of severe explosion, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI), Nasrullah, constables Zahidullah, Samiullah, Gulzar and prisoners Saddiq Jan and Bakht Munir sustained minor injuries.
District Police Officer, Lower Dir, Khurshid Khan told APP on phone that the injured were discharged after first aid.
The police van has also been damaged. Khurshid Khan said that investigations are underway and the culprits behind this heinous act would soon be brought to justice.
He said that the blasts were aimed at creating panic and harassment among the law abiding citizens.
Police said that no casualty was reported in the second blast. Police said that the explosive devices used in the blasts were locally made.
