One more cabbie arrested for killing NRI

New Delhi : A taxi driver was arrested from southwest Delhi Tuesday, a day after his two accomplices were nabbed on the charge of killing a non-resident Indian (NRI) from Saudi Arabia here this month, police said.

Anil, 24, was arrested from Mahipalpur area when he returned from Rewari after visiting some relatives, police said. Two other taxi drivers, Manish and Monu, were arrested Monday from Sanjay Gandhi Nagar Monday on the charge of gunning down K.T. Shammer Oct 10.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) Sanjay Kumar said the accused had stolen the mobile phone, ATM cards and other belongings of the NRI and had later withdrawn Rs.150,000 using his debit card.

The accused took Shameer, who was originally from Kerala, in their cab to Gurgaon and shot him dead, police said.

They dumped his body near National Highway 8 between Manesar and Bilaspur towns near the national capital.

Shameer had arrived at the domestic airport late Oct 10 night by a Spice Jet flight from Ahmedabad but was not traceable afterwards, leading to a police complaint from his family.
