Beijing : China’s Vice President Xi Jinping Saturday met Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and thanked him for Islamabad’s support on the Taiwan and Tibet issues.
Xi said both the countries shared mutual understanding, trust and support since establishing diplomatic ties.
“China thanks Pakistan for its firm support on the Taiwan and Tibet issues, and will always make the Sino-Pakistani relationship a priority,” Xi told the Pakistani premier.
He said China will deepen its ties with Pakistan in economic, agricultural and educational fields as well as increase youth exchange programmes to promote strategic partnership.
Gilani said Pakistan will work with China to strengthen bilateral ties. He was in Beijing to attend the seventh ASEM summit organised here Oct 24-25.
