Quetta, Pakistan : Adviser to Prime Minister on Interior A Rehman Malik Saturday said that on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari relief and rehabilitation operations in quake-affected areas of the province are in full swing.
Rehman Malik who was accompanied by Advisor to Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Watto and Federal Minister for Sports Najmuddin Khan told media persons at the Quetta Airport that the federal government is in constant contact with the Chief Minister Balochistan and would provide every possible help for relief and resettlement of the quake-affected people.
He said that the people of Balochistan should not consider themselves alone at the time of need adding that 15 helicopters along with thousands of troops are engaged in the relief and rehabilitation operations.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Watto said that ten thousands packets consisting of flour, rice, pulses, oil, sugar and other edibles have been dispatched to the affected area of which three thousands packets have already been distributed among the quake victims.
He said that the aid provided to the affected areas is enough adding that every person would be provided shelter and food in sufficient quantity.
Upon their arrival the federal ministers were received by President Pakistan Poeples’ Party Balochistan, Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, Provincial Finance Minister Asim Kurd Gailo, Provincial Minister for Information Younas Malazai and other senior officials.
