BJP’s Delhi chief ministerial candidate files nomination

New Delhi : Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s chief ministerial candidate for Delhi, Saturday filed his nomination from the Greater Kailash constituency.

Malhotra was accompanied by senior party leaders Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Vijay Goel and Harsh Vardhan. He filed his nomination at Jamnagar House on Shahjahan Road.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal were also present.

Hundreds of BJP activists carrying BJP’s flags and wearing saffron mufflers around their necks caused massive traffic snarls in and around the historic India Gate for nearly an hour, as they cheered Malhotra.

They chanted slogans like, “Delhi Ka CM Kaisa ho, Malhotra Jaisa Ho” and “BJP Zindabad”.

After the nomination process, senior BJP leaders expressed their faith in Malhotra and said were confident of winning the assembly elections scheduled Nov 29.
