Hyderabad: Urdu Development Organisation has urged the well wishers of Urdu language to fill up the bank draft requisition forms in Urdu.
The organisation said that if any bank refuses to issue a bank draft on the request form filled in Urdu language then this information must be given to the organization. It will take departmental action against the bank.
President of the organization, Md Akhtar Churiwala informed that the reserve Bank of India has already instructed all banks to appoint staffs who know Urdu to accept cheques and forms filled in Urdu.
He expressed his disappointment that writers, poets and intellectuals are not taking real interest in Urdu language. He urged Muslim professionals to come forward to help in the development of this language. He stated that if we all become conscious about our rights then all Government departments will give due respect to Urdu that it deserves.
Urdu is one of the official languages of India.
