Muslim organisations – the All India Shia-Sunni Front (AISSF), All India Muslim Unity Front and All India Babri Masjid Re-Building Committee – held an anti-terror march in the capital Friday to condemn the Mumbai terror attack.

“We are requesting the government to stop all peace talks with Pakistan which is providing shelter to those involved in the killing of innocent people in India,” AISSF General Secretary Z. Ahmed Chamman told reporters here.

In a memorandum to President Pratibha Patil, the demonstrators urged her to order the armed forces to eliminate terror camps operating from the Pakistan.

The demonstrators burnt an effigy of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari for patronising terror elements in his country.

The protesters also observed a minute’s silence in homage to the 172 victims of Mumbai carnage.
