New Delhi : John Dayal, a member of the National Integration Council, has been selected for the Human Dignity Award 2008 in recognition of his services in the field of human rights.
Dayal will be given the award at a function in Geneva later this month.
The award given every year in memory of M.M. Guptara includes Rs.100,000 in cash.
Dayal has, over decades, helped people, especially Christians, Muslims and Dalits, in their fight for human rights.
