Gandhi, MP from Amethi, reached his constituency on a surprise two-day visit Thursday.

“Yesterday, Gandhi visited a couple of villages and met villagers there,” state Congress spokesperson A.P. Singh told IANS.

Answering questions on the recent Mumbai terror attacks, Gandhi said: “Whatever I had to say, I said it in parliament.”

He also attended a closed-door meeting with state party leaders and urged them to increase the vote share of the Congress, a local party office bearer told IANS.
