New Delhi : India’s top badminton player Saina Nehwal’s run in the World Super Series Masters Final came to an end Saturday after she lost to Cheng Wang of Hong Kong in the women’s singles semi-final Saturday in Saba, Malaysia.
According to information received here, the seventh seeded and World No.10 Saina lost 21-15, 14-21 and 16-21 to third seed Wang in the match that lasted 42 minutes at the Likas Sports Complex.
Saina qualified for the semis Friday night when she grabbed the last place in the women’s singles semi-finals after beating Wong Mew Choo in the last Group B match.
This was the first time she managed to get the better of Mew Choo after losing their two previous encounters.
