By Xinhua,
Islamabad : Pakistan’s National Assembly, or lower parliament, unanimously passed a resolution on Wednesday, urging India to stop “unsubstantiated” allegations against Pakistan on the Mumbai terror attacks.
The resolution said India, seeking to cover their intelligence failure, should stop hostile propaganda against Pakistan, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) said.
Pakistan-India tensions were heightened as the Indian side accused Pakistan-based militant groups of involvement in last month’s Mumbai terror attacks, which killed more than 170 people.
But Pakistan denied involvement in the attacks and demanded concrete evidence.
India should take the proposals made by Pakistan for joint investigations and high-level engagement, said the resolution.
The resolution affirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to peace, security and stability, saying war is not an option given the nuclear capabilities of both countries.
The tensions between the two nuclear-armed countries have put the four-year peace process on hold.
