The Turkish news agency (Anadolu) quoted Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan as saying that the urgent call was to discuss the emergency crisis situation in Gaza after the Israeli massacre.

On another front, Turkey is preparing in Istanbul today a protest in solidarity with the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza and condemned the repeated Israeli attacks.

Turkey condemned the massacre committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, calling military operations against the unarmed Palestinian people a “tragedy.” Earlier, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said that he is following with great concern developments in the Palestinian territories, adding that he had warned Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert during his recent visit to Ankara from the results of escalating tension in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli blockade of Gaza.
