Sensex opens in the green

Mumbai : Indian equities markets opened in the green Friday, with the key index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, starting trade marginally higher than its last closing figure.

The Sensex started at 9,125.65 points, higher than its 9,046.74-point close Thursday. After about 10 minutes of trading, it had climbed a bit more to 9,154.41 points, 1.19 percent higher than its previous close.

At the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was at 2,764.35 points, a marginal 1.01 percent higher than its previous close of 2,736.70.
