Ranchi : Six children were injured when the roof of a government school collapsed during the Republic Day celebrations in the Godda district of Jharkhand Monday, a police officer here said.
Hundreds of children gathered to participate in the Republic Day function at a school in the Pratappur block of Godda district, 550 km from here.
“The roof of a classroom collapsed in which six children were injured. The injured children have been admitted in a local hospital. The condition of one is said to be critical,” the police officer added.
He said the roof top was weak and could not bear the weight of the students whop had gathered there for the function.
