High court cancels Bihar government job exam result

Patna : The Patna High Court Friday ordered cancellation of results of the preliminary examination conducted for recruitment of government jobs in the state, official sources in the court said.

A single bench of Justice Navin Sinha ordered the cancellation of results of the preliminary examinations conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for recruitment in the Bihar Administrative Service, Bihar Police Service and other gazetted posts in the state.

The court also ordered the BPSC to hold fresh preliminary tests for recruitment.

The court reserved its order in the case Thursday after hearing a bunch of petitions against the results of the BPSC preliminary examination.

The court observed that the verdict in these cases would have a bearing on the results of the BPSC main examination, scheduled to commence from Feb 2.

Last year about 150 candidates moved the court alleging several anomalies in the question papers of the preliminary test of the BPSC, conducted on May 25, 2008, at 530 centres across the state.

The commission declared a total 19,318 candidates successful in September last year.
