Tokyo : Japan’s government will hold an international conference to discuss providing several billion dollars in aid to Pakistan.
Invitations for the cabinet minister-level meeting, likely by early April, have been sent to the U.S., European nations, China and other countries and international organizations, the daily MarketWatch of Hong Kong carried a report from Nikkei.
Participants in the proposed meeting will likely ask the Pakistani government to strengthen efforts to contain terrorist groups and discuss economic aid to be provided mainly in regions bordering Afghanistan, the daily Martetwatch of Hong Kong reports.
