Mumbai : Indian equities markets continued to move upwards Friday afternoon, with a key index trading 2.13 percent higher than its previous close about 90 minutes before the closing bell.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 9,540.60 points, was trading at 9,667.65 points, up 2.13 percent or 201.82 points.
Among broader market indices, the BSE midcap index was ruling 1.9 percent higher, while the BSE smallcap was up 1.28 percent.
At the same time, the broader-based S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 2,956.9 points, 2.21 percent higher than its previous close of 2,893.05 points.
