New Delhi : Tata Communications and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based telecom giant Etisalat Monday jointly announced the launch of ethernet services in the emirates.
Ethernet is a computer networking technology for local area network (LAN) that connects a group of computers in a closed area.
The partnership will enable Etisalat to extend its reach by offering layer-two global ethernet services in and out of the UAE, while Tata can now extend its global network coverage in the emirates, the companies said in a joint statement.
“Through this partnership, Etisalat will offer benefits of dedicated end-to-end bandwidth through a superior variety of global ethernet solutions in addition to offering value-added services like managed disaster recovery to our customers,” Etisalat-business solutions vice-president Abdulla Hashim said.
Etisalat plans to extend its global footprint by either setting up its own nodes or by partnering with telecom operators across the globe, the statement added.
Both providers will work together on various marketing and sales support activities in the UAE and deliver innovative solutions targeted at enterprise segments like airlines, media, real estate, logistics, banking and finance, it added.
