New Delhi: The Lokjan Shakti Party’s Election Manifesto was jointly released by the Party President Ram Vilas Paswan and General Secretary Abdul Khalique here yesterday. It contains a huge array of welfare schemes for almost all sections of the society including the minorities especially the Muslims.
It promises to take up the development of Muslims on a priority basis. The manifesto speaks of launching Muslim specific welfare programs in a big way.
The Muslim centric features of the Manifesto are: ten per cent reservation to the Muslims, all out efforts to the economic, social and educational development of the community, Amendment in the Constitution for special privileges to the Muslims on line with the SC/ST, expansion in the scope of Sachar Committee Recommendations, implementation of Ranganath Mishra Commission recommendations, restoration of Minority status of Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University.
Other Muslim welfare programs include: Statutory powers to Wakf Boards, ending of illegal encroachment on Wakf properties, riot control, ban on communal outfits such as RSS, VHP and Bajrag Dal, special provisions for Muslims women in the thirty three per cent women reservations Bill, subsidized seeds, fertilizers and agricultural tools to small farmers and land tillers as well as appropriate costs to agricultural produce and social security schemes for agricultural laborers.
