Mumbai : Indian equities markets opened higher Thursday, with a key index trading about 1.19 percent above its last closing figure.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) opened at 10,876.15 points, higher than its 10,742.34 point close Wednesday. About 10 minutes into trade, it was at 10,870.47 points, 1.19 percent or 128.13 points higher than its previous close.
The S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 3,374.35 points, 0.94 percent higher than its last close of 3,342.95.
The BSE midcap index was ruling 1.71 percent higher than its previous close, while the BSE smallcap index was up 1.7 percent.
