New Delhi : The Davis Cup committee of the International Tennis Federation will Friday decide whether Chennai can be the venue of the India-Australia tie through a tele-conference, All India Tennis Association (AITA) secretary general Anil Khanna said Monday.
Khanna told IANS that he is hopeful of the committee confirming Chennai as venue.
The tie is scheduled to be played on the hardcourts of the tennis stadium at the Sports Development Authority Sports Complex in Chennai from May 8-10.
Tennis Australia last month requested the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to move the tie out of India citing security concerns post 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and also the ambush of Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore in February.
