Noida : A 22-year-old woman who was allegedly being harassed for dowry by her husband committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in Noida, the police said.
The incident came to light Monday morning, when the woman’s body was discovered by her husband.
Anita, a resident of Harola area, was married to Gajendra Singh, a factory worker, two years ago.
Anita’s brother Kaushlendra in a complaint to the police alleged that Singh used to torture her for dowry.
The police have registered a complaint. The accused is said to be absconding.
“Gajendra Singh is absconding. A police team has been dispatched to his native village. We will arrest him soon,” Superintendent of Police (City) A.K. Tripathi said.
