Patna: Abdul Bari Siddiqui was elected as sate president of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) third time without any contest. It is announced by Guldanand Singh, returning officer of RJD organizational election, in the meeting of RJD state council.
District election officers conducted RJD’s organisational election despite many difficulties created by devastating floods in whole north Bihar, he said.
"Election of Abdul Bari Siddiqui without contest shows his popularity and devotion towards the party. It makes clear that all party men want to work for the party under his sincere leadership," said Mr Singh.
Abdul Bari Siddiqui, an MLA, has been appointed as party president consecutive for last two years. On this occasion Rabri Devi, former Chief Minister and leader of opposition presented him a certificate of party president. Mr. Siddiqui is under treatment in AIIMS, these days.
Mr. Siddiqui is representing Bahera in Bihar Assembly since 1995.
