New Delhi: For outstanding contribution to Indian classical music, Ustad Rahim Fahimuddin Khan Dagar was conferred Lifetime Achievement Award by Delhi Chief Minister Siela Dikshit.
The award function was organized by Sahtiya Kala Parishad of the Govt. of Delhi. The Dhrupad Maestro was presented a citation and Rs. Eleven lakhs in cash.
Ustad was born in Alwar, Rajasthan in 1927. He learned music from his father Ustad Rahimuddin Dagar, who was awarded Padma Bhushan.
Belonging to a family known for Dhrupad style of singing Ustad Fahmiuddin is the senior most member of this family.
