New Delhi : Rebels in India-controlled Kashmir are using mobile phones to trigger bomb explosions, a newsreport said Sunday.
The Hindustan Times quoted an official of India’s central reserve police force (CRPF) as saying that troops fighting armed rebellion have detected a fifth bomb connected with a mobile handset this summer alone in India-controlled Kashmir.
Indian troops say they have been able to defuse the five improvised explosive devices.
“They (Kashmiri rebels) have changed their earlier strategy of hurling grenades,” the report quoted a CRPF official as saying.
