New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia has announced admissions to its first batch of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course offered from its newly-opened Faculty of Dentistry in its campus. The five year regular course has 50 seats. The last date for submitting application forms is 17 July.
Online application form and prospectus can be downloaded from the university website jmi.nic.in. A Demand Draft for Rs.500/- must be submitted along with the completed form.
Admission shall be conducted by the University authorities on the basis of a written entrance test to be held on July 20. The list of selected/waiting students will be displayed on July 22. Counseling of selected candidates and issuing of fee slips will be on July 23.
Entrance test shall comprise 200 multiple choice questions in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany. The syllabus for these subjects is set out in Para 14.5 of the Prospectus and also displayed on the JMI website. The medium of the test shall be English. There shall be no negative marking.
An applicant must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with not less than 50 % marks. The age of the candidate should not be less than 17 years as on December 31, 2009. The fees for the course is Rs.24,910/-. Candidates sending their Application Forms through Post may send them to the office of the Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi-110025 along with (i) two passport size coloured photographs, and (ii) the receipt issued by the post office for having dispatched the application form for getting their Admit Cards. The above documents should be submitted at least one day in advance of the date of Entrance Exam.
