Baghdad : Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Kazemi Qomi said here Wednesday that members of an Iranian delegation who were detained by the US troops have been released.
US forces arrested an Iranian delegation comprising of experts of Energy Ministry without any explanation Tuesday night.
The Iranians had traveled to Iraq upon an invitation by Iraq’s Energy Ministry to carry out electricity projects in the war-stricken country.
Kazemi Qomi added, “US forces delivered the Iranian delegation to Iraqi prime minister’s office Wednesday morning.”
