Pakistani forces arrest more militants in Swat operation

Islamabad : Pakistani security forces Monday arrested sixteen more militants in the continued search and clearance operation in the northern Malakand Division and also destroyed houses of militants.

Security forces apprehended 16 militants in the continued search and clearance operations in Swat and Malakand during the last 24 hours, said a military press statement.

The forces also defused a landmine and demolished three houses of militants, it said, adding, they recovered weapons from the possession of arrested militants.

Pakistani forces have been conducting operation in Malakand Division since April. While, the operation is still continuing, they have claimed killing over 12,000 militants and arresting dozens of others.
