New Delhi : A student was shot dead in broad daylight after some unidentified assailants pumped four bullets into his body in west Delhi Wednesday, police said.
Jitender, pursuing post graduation in forensic sciences, was murdered at around 9.30 a.m. near a metro station in Uttam Nagar area, after he left his home nearby for his college in Rohini area of northwest Delhi.
According to police, the assailants numbering three opened gunshots at him and pumped four bullets in his chest and abdomen. The accused later fled towards the Najafgarh area.
Jitender was rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. His body has been sent for post mortem examination.
“We have registered a case of murder and initial investigations revealed that he was killed over personal enmity with a local group of hoodlums,” said a senior police official investigating the matter.
