4 Muslims clear Combined Defence Services Examiniation – II, 2008

New Delhi: Four Muslims have cleared the Combined Defence Services Examiniation – II, 2008 and have finally qualified for admission to the Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai for 90th Short Service Commission Course.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today declared the results of Combined Defence Services Examiniation – II, 2008. A total of 260 candidates have qualified for admission to the (i) Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai for 90th Short Service Commission Course (for Men) (236 candidates); and (ii) 4th Short Service Commission for Women (Non-Technical) Course (24 candidates) commencing in October, 2009.



The list of 90th Short Service Commission Course (for Men) also includes the names of the candidates who were recommended earlier on the basis of the result of the same examination for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun / Naval Academy, Ezimala, Kerala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training Course(s).

The four successful Muslims are among the 236 candidates who have qualified for admission to the Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai for 90th Short Service Commission Course (for Men). In the list of these candidates Taher Hussain Khan is ranked 17th, Wasim Ahmad Sharafat Ali Rana 23rd, Alif Mansoor 89th and Faizullah Khan 202th.

The number of vacancies, as intimated by the Government for (i) 90th Short Service Commission Course (for men) is 175 & for (ii) 4th Short Service Commission (Women Non-Technical) Course is 29.

The result of Medical Examination of candidates has not been taken into account in preparing the merit list. The candidature of all the candidates is provisional.
