Thiruvananthapuram : Communist Party of India-Marxist’s (CPI-M) Kerala secretary Pinarayi Vijayan Thursday alleged that the man arrested for the murder of Muthoot business house scion Paul M. George was linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
“The particular type of knife used to stab George is one which is used by RSS people,” Vijayan told reporters here. “The probe is progressing in the right direction.”
George was travelling with two men who had criminal records Friday night when he was murdered. The two men are absconding while 15 others have been arrested, including K. Satish, who police claim stabbed George.
Vijayan also alleged that George was arrested from his home in Faridabad, a suburb of Delhi, in 2007 for possession of drugs.
“Have you found out using your investigation skills how George travelled with two people with known criminal records? Do you know that he was in custody for two days for possessing drugs?”
He said that Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and his family were being unnecessarily dragged into the case.
K. Surendran, president of the state Bharatiya Yuva Morcha, challenged Vijayan to come out with evidence on the supposed RSS links to the murder.
“He appears to have lost his senses because he is trying to defend Balakrishnan and his family who know everything about the murder,” said Surendran.
