KP Musthafa alias Muthu (43), Abdussalam (32), Mangalasseri Zacaria (23), Rafi alias Moideen Koya (38), PT Noufal (32) and Musthafa alias Mujeeb (28) are the persons exonerated by the Judge. The case was that the armed group of these six persons attacked Jayachithran on Januray 4, 2002, a day after the main clashes.

Jayachithran had reportedly informed the doctor who treated him that he had been attacked by 12 people. However, the prosecution failed to prove the charges against the accused. The evidences submitted before the court were too weak.

This is the seventh of the 67 cases registered in connection with the clashes that took place on Marad beach in Kozhikode district on 3rd and 4th January, 2002. This is the second case in which all the accused had been acquitted.
