Kolkata : Senior monk of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission Swami Ashaktananda breathed his last at a city private nursing home here Sunday following a cardiac attack.
Ashaktananda, 78, was secretary of the Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission, mission sources said.
The first headmaster of the famed Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission school on the southern outskirts of the city, Ashaktananda was affectionately called �Bishnuda’ by the students.
A large number of alumni of Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission School have already arrived at their alma mater on hearing the news.
His body would be taken to Belur Math in the afternoon for the last rites.
