Sheikh Nasir Hussain receives best media person award 2007

Kishtwar : An impressive function was organised by Rasa Jawdani memorial literary Society unit Kishtwar, on the eve of
teacher’s day.
The programme was attended by various dignitaries of Jammu University, officials from district administration, Police, prominent citizens and teachers of the area.
Two prominent teachers, Ghulam Rasool Hamal and late Lachman Dass, were awarded posthumously for their contribution in the field of education. Shah Asrar-ud-Din gold medals were given to the five local teachers including Ghulam Rasool Shaban Kelam, Sri Krishan Sharma, Saleema Sayeed, Veeran Wazir and Vijay Lakhshmi.
The Rasa Jawdani Best media person award 2007 was given to a local journalist Sheikh Nasir Hussain, editor in Chief of local fortnightly, correspondent Greater Kashmir, Kashmir Uzma, and special correspondent News Agency of Kashmir, besides him Balbir Jamwal of Danik Jagran was also awarded on the occasion.
The programme organized by the Rasa Jawdani society district unit headed by Dr. Tariq Tamkeen was held in two sessions. The first session was presided over by Dr. Meenakshi Kelam Director Colleges University of Jammu whereas the additional deputy commissioner Kishtwar Reyaz Ahmed Zargar was the chief guest of the second session.
Dr. Meenakshi kelam was honoured with the prestigious literary award Rasa- Nishat-Janbaz award for the year 2007. Among others who were present on the occasion include Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Astt commissioner revenue, SSP Kishtwar Mumtaz Ahmed, SDPO Kishtwar Liyaqat Choudhary, prominent educationist of the area DC Sharma, S.N. Sharma, TR Sen, and
others.
