Damascus : The Executive Council of World Peace Council (WPC) held a meeting here Friday with the participation of 40 states with the affair focusing on the development in the Mideast.
The General Secretary of the WPC, Thanassis Pafilis said the opening speech that the Palestinian issue was becoming more complicated due to the unfair Israeli policies against Palestinians, affirming Israel should work for peace by withdrawing from all occupied lands and allowing Palestinians to have their won states.
WPC President Socorro Gomes said on her part that Israel should stop violations against Palestinians if the Jewish state was for peace in the region.
She affirmed that WPC would always backup the Palestinian cause.
The WPC President also called for a Mideast clean from weapons of mass destruction.
